How we set a monument
In Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia our own crews set the stone and file the cemetery permit. This is the standard, so you and the cemetery know what to expect.

Our own crews set in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia. Everywhere else we drop-ship direct to the cemetery and the setting is arranged locally.
Our setting standard
Every setting follows the same five steps.
Confirm the cemetery's requirements
Check the cemetery's rules before the memorial is chosen. We need the lot map location before we can set.
File the permit
We file the cemetery permit.
Deliver and schedule the setting
Once the material, artwork approval and the foundation are complete, we deliver within 2 weeks, weather permitting. We send a notification when it is delivered, and photos are available on request.
Set the monument
High-density plastic setting cushions go down, the joint is sealed with setting compound, the die is lowered onto stainless steel dowels and the joint is trimmed. No lead, no washers.
Leave the lot
We leave the cemetery grounds as we found them.

Timing and seasons
When do you stop setting for the winter?
Foundations close for winter around November 15, when frost sets in. Spring setting starts around April 1, weather permitting.
When do we need to order for Memorial Day?
Approve the proof by March 15 for Memorial Day, March 1 for Mother's Day, April 1 for Father's Day and October 1 for Christmas. Lead times by product are on the lead times and terms page.

Everywhere else
We drop-ship the finished memorial direct to the cemetery. Setting is arranged locally by you or the cemetery.
